Who is The PAW Project?

miamckenzie

Mia created The PAW Project in 2010 and is a No Kill Advocate.

Her work has gained International attention. This has resulted in three sponsored trips to the No Kill Conference in Washington DC, establishing strong bonds with No Kill Directors, workers, advocates and lawyers.

Mia's knowledge includes:

  • how to implement life saving programs
  • the importance of a compassionate leader
  • turbocharging adoptions
  • effective shelter design (on a budget!)
  • effective infection control
  • effective feral, stray and community cat management
  • dog breed identification
  • shelter enrichment
  • optimising staff morale, both paid and unpaid
  • community embracement
  • political advocacy

In her spare time, Mia is employed as a Clinical Nurse for a public hospital Intensive Care Unit :)

If you are interested in becoming a No Kill Advocate, or learning more about how Australian shelters can eliminate their kill rates, please send Mia a message via the contact page.

Below is a list of people that inspire's Mia. They each excel in their role and continue to make a difference to people and their pets in their own communities. Their vision, compassion and intelligence is what makes them so awesome!

Thanks!
